BIM, CAD and Shingles Roof

What does BIM stands for?

BIM stands for Building Information Modeling. BIM or Building Information Modeling is today a hot topic in the building industry, amongst architects, engineers, contractors, project developers, manufacturers, building professionals…

There can be found different definitions of BIM – Building Information Modeling on the internet:

Some BIM definitions speak about the digital representation of the building process, others refer to software, or to a collection of building data in a d-base.

The US National Building Information Model Standard Project Committee has the following definition: “Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. A BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition.”
